I am a US 6th grade World Geography teacher in Kentucky. I am using the programs Skype, Epals, and Taking It Global to try to find students from around the world to communicate with my 11 & 12 year old students. The classroom would need internet and a video cam connected to a computer. Our content focuses on today’s world cultures, types of government, economy, and major geographical features. We are currently using Skype to communicate with students in Germany, Brazil, Norway, Nepal, & Uganda. We have one contact in China, however it is with a chemist who works with antioxidants. I have been very reserved with this contact. I don’t know very much about him. I would prefer to have connections with a recommended contact.

Any name or connection you could pass on to me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Bonjour!

Hello! I teach English in Paris to 11-15 year old students and I'd love to try a skype class. I must admit I haven't done it yet but I certainly would find very interesting to have 2 classes trying to talk to one another through a video conference. It could be very informal and I guess quite natural to make them introduce themselves and present their school in a 30 minute exchange on skype. Is anybody interested?
Cheers,

Pauline.

Hello,
I teach English to 14-15 year old pupils in the South of France. That's a small group of 15 pupils and they are in a "European section (= they have extra English hours). My pupils and I would love to get in touch with American pupils (writing letters, postcards, emails...).
Cheers,

Virginie

I teach english at Marciac Jazz school.

This little village has hosted a great Jazz festival for more than thirty years and Jazz is part of our pupils curriculum. At the end of their four years with us, our pupils have quite a repertoire. They can perform in front of an audience and entertain them.

Several concerts are organised each year in the area and we've been invited to  great festivals: Jazz sous les Pommiers (Coutances) in 2008 and 2010.

My colleagues and I believe that playing in a club, or a music hall for an american audience would be a great experience for our pupils.

We had found a school that was interested in LA but they backed out because of the number of pupils: about 55

We're still optimistic and would be happy to get in touch with a school interested in the project. An exchange could be organised with the American pupils coming to Marciac during the festival and being hosted by local families.

Bonjour!

Cordialement,

Mary Jo

Looking for a one year partnership lycée exchange

Hi! I am a French teacher in the USA and normally take my students to France in the spring to stay with host families. We have had a partnership with a lycée, and they cannot host us this year, so I am looking for a school that is willing to have an exchange for this school year only. Anywhere is France is fine. As for us, we are in an urban high school in North Carolina, about 1 hour from Charlotte. We have between 12-15 students who are involved in this exchange.
